We have an opening for an experienced client-facing Digital Project Manager or Producer to join our busy Interactive Department either as a full-time employee or on a freelance contract.

The Digital Project Manager (DPM) holds a dual responsibility for the coordination and effective delivery of Origins digital projects and day-to-day communications with clients. The DPM ensures that client needs are being met by providing exemplary project management and effective client communication. The DPM assembles, briefs and coordinates internal or third-party resources to ensure projects are on time, on budget, meet the client’s strategic goals and Origin’s quality standards before they are delivered for approval. The DPM holds the accountability for the project's profitability and supports the Digital Marketing Director in ensuring the long-term viability of the client/agency relationship, and overall client satisfaction.

Location: Remote –or– office based in Whistler, BC

A solid background in account service and project management. The Digital Project Manager should demonstrate advanced verbal and written skills, analytical thinking, organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills as well as a clear understanding of website design and development processes and technologies.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an agency environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in leading large digital/ website projects
  • Deep understanding of website development processes (coding skills not required)
  • Experience working with CMS platforms such as Drupal, Wordpress and Shopify (headless experience preferred)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Collaborative and respectful personality
  • Self-motivated with a passion to grow and learn new processes and skills on the job
  • Resourceful and exceptional multitasking abilities
  • Ability to manage teams of all sizes
  • Previous experience managing a development team
  • Previous experience coordinating multiple projects and large numbers of project stakeholders
  • Previous experience working with different project management tools and methodologies such as Agile, JIRA, Basecamp or other Kanban systems

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Director to develop detailed scope of works (SOWs) including project deliverables, approach, functional specifications and timelines
  • Collaborate with the Resource Director and/or Digital Marketing Director in estimating and resourcing projects
  • Manage, facilitate, and organize the resources (team members, contractors, third party suppliers) required to complete the project
  • Engage team members and contractors in the project plan, schedule and deliverable review
  • Act as a team facilitator throughout the project and provide all team members with support, problem-solving and clear direction
  • Work with clients to collate all required assets and information ahead of the project team needing this information
  • Providing efficient, effective and proactive client communication through day-to-day contact and regular client status reports/meetings
  • Clearly communicate with the client the current status of all jobs in progress, and any issues affecting job quality, due dates and costs
  • Monitor and report the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure its successful completion
  • Organize and manage project meetings in an effective manner
  • Ensure the effectiveness, profitability, and improvement of the projects
  • Review the quality of the work with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the Origin standards
  • Manage the project budget and profit as it moves from inception to completion
  • When necessary, participate in the project replanning process by providing insights on the potential impact for resources, timeline, and profit
  • Anticipate the project risks and establish a mitigation plan
  • Convey project changes and updates to appropriate team members
  • Lead the ongoing reconciliation of jobs for billing
  • Lead the post-mortem on all relevant projects
